Meet Your Therapist
Deborah A. Corona, LMFT
Deborah A. Corona received her Master’s Degree in Social Science with emphasis in Marriage, Family Therapy from Azusa Pacific College at California Family Study Center in Burbank, California, and is licensed by the State of California as a Marriage, Family Therapist. She also pursued a personal interest in Biblical studies at Capernwray Bible School in England.
Deborah Corona, LMFT, has been in practice for over forty years and has extensive training and experience in a variety of clinical settings — including Dean of Women and Psychology Instructor for a private Christian college. She has been active as a trainer and supervisor for mental health professionals, a speaker on a variety of life issues, and has extensive experience in psychiatric inpatient and outpatient programs, community mental health centers, onsite schools, residential treatment facilities, and private practice.
Her clinical focus includes mood disorders such as anxiety and depression, family relational dynamics and conflict resolution, parent-child conflict, developmental difficulties, life transition issues, grief and loss, child and adult sexual abuse treatment, adult and childhood trauma, caregiver stress, cultural awareness, spiritual issues within the Christian framework, and many more.
She believes that we are not hostages to our past or present traumas — that overcoming trauma comes from living life in truth, in responsibility, in gratitude, and in serving others. Her role as a therapist is to help clients align themselves with life’s truth and respond effectively to it and its challenges.
